We did not find an hourly mariachi rate published in Argentine pesos with a verifiable source, and that's why we are not going to give you an invented figure. Buenos Aires groups quote by WhatsApp depending on the date and the number of members. Here is how to ask for and compare quotes without getting confused.

Why is there no fixed hourly price in Argentina?

With inflation, a price written on a web page goes out of date within a few weeks. That's why the Buenos Aires mariachi group sites we reviewed (CABA, the north zone and the west zone of Greater Buenos Aires) don't publish rates: they explain that the price changes depending on the date and the number of members, and ask you to inquire by WhatsApp stating the event day.

That isn't a bad sign in itself, but it forces you to ask for several quotes and compare them with judgment. A price with no date or detail is useless for deciding. If someone gives you a number, always ask what day it's for, how many musicians it includes and how long it lasts.

A practical clue: if two groups quote the same duration and one charges quite a bit less, ask how many musicians each one will bring. The difference is usually there.

Keep in mind that "per hour" is a figure of speech: in a serenade what counts is the actual music time, not the time the group is at your house. Ask them to clarify it.

What changes the price of a mariachi?

The factors that repeat across the sources consulted are few and worth having clear before you write:

  • Number of members: the sites talk about groups of 3, 4, 5 or more musicians.
  • Length: a short serenade of about 15 minutes doesn't cost the same as a show of 30 minutes or more.
  • Date: one of the groups says it has weekday discounts, so a Tuesday can come out differently from a Saturday or a special date.
  • Area: playing in Palermo isn't the same as playing in the far suburbs (conurbano), because of travel.
  • Sound and costumes: whether the group brings its own equipment or uses the venue's.

How do you compare mariachi quotes without getting it wrong?

Ask each group for the same thing, in writing, and put it in a simple table with these columns: total price, members, minutes of music, travel included or separate, and form of payment. Then divide the total price by the number of musicians and by the minutes: that way you compare groups of different sizes with the same yardstick.

Be wary of an offer that is much lower than the others without explaining why: it may be a smaller group or a shorter serenade. Don't assume the most expensive one is better either; ask for a recent video of them playing and look at the repertoire.

Save the quotes with their date. If a price you were given a month ago is no longer valid, it's normal in an inflationary context; what matters is that each group confirms the final amount and the period during which that amount remains valid.

And for a band or large group at an event?

As a general event reference, a site that compiles wedding prices in Buenos Aires (data from April 2026) puts a live band of 4 to 6 musicians for a wedding between 4 and 10 million pesos. It's a very wide range, it's for a complete wedding and it's not equivalent to an hour of mariachi, so take it only as an order of magnitude and not as a rate. With inflation, that figure can go out of date quickly.

Does Serenattia already work in Argentina?

Not yet. Serenattia was born in Mexico and is arriving in Argentina, so for now there are no musicians published in Argentina. This guide is useful information for hiring on your own, and if you want to hear when we arrive, you can leave your details on the musicians page ("Notify me when there are musicians in Argentina").

Are you a musician in Argentina? Publish your profile for free: you put your price in plain view, with no exclusivity, and you receive 100% of your rate.

Until we arrive, one piece of advice that holds with any group: ask for everything in writing and watch recent videos. If something isn't clear before paying, it won't be clear afterward, and if the price seems too good to be true, ask what exactly it includes.

  • Total price and what it includes, in writing.
  • Number of musicians and minutes of music.
  • Travel, sound and deposit (seña) clarified beforehand.
  • What happens if you have to cancel or reschedule.
  • A contact name and phone number for the day of the event.

So you know what to expect, this is how it works today in Mexico: the client pays 100% when booking, the money is held in escrow and released to the musician at the event, when the client scans the musician's QR code before they play. If the musician doesn't show up, the payment isn't released. You can see how we publish prices there, in Mexican pesos and with no possible comparison to Argentina, in the Mexico price index.
