As of September 9, 2026, serenattia has 73 musician profiles published in 16 cities in Mexico, with 194 packages showing price and duration up front, 28 different genres and 17 profiles with video. The median list price of those packages is MX$4,300 and the average is MX$8,150. And the number that weighs most in this report: bookings paid to date, zero. This is the first catalog report with verified numbers, written by the person building it, with the figures as they are in the database and not as we would like them to be.

Why Publish a Report With Zero Bookings?

Because in April of this year this same blog published pieces that talked about figures of scale, dozens of cities and growth that did not exist. On September 9 we took them down. This piece replaces one of them, and the only way to regain trust is to report what is there, with a cutoff date and with the uncomfortable part included. If in a month the numbers improve, we will publish the next report; if they do not improve, we will too.

How Many Musicians Are on serenattia and in Which Cities?

73 profiles published in 16 cities. The distribution is what you would expect from a project that was born in Mérida and began to leave Yucatán only a few weeks ago: almost half the catalog is in the Yucatecan capital, and the rest is spread across the cities that opened in recent weeks.

What this table says without frills: outside Mérida, Mexico City and Cancún, supply is still thin. In seven cities there is a single musician published. If you search in Mérida you will find variety; if you search in Tlaxcala, you will find one profile. We would rather you know that before you start searching.

What Is Inside the Catalog?

  • 194 packages with price and duration. Each profile publishes at least one package with a fixed rate; there is no "get a no-obligation quote" and no hidden price.
  • 28 genres. Mariachi, trio, DJ, versatile band, norteño, banda, string quartet, violinist, saxophonist, trova, batucada, marimba and choir, among others.
  • 17 profiles with video. It is the weakest data point in the catalog, and we know it: 56 of 73 profiles are still sold with only a photo and text. Asking each musician for video is September's operational task.
  • Median list price of MX$4,300 and average of MX$8,150. The difference between the two numbers matters: the median says half the packages cost MX$4,300 or less, and the average pulls upward because versatile bands and full wedding packages weigh a lot. These are list prices published by the musicians, not booking tickets, because there are no paid bookings.

How Did the Catalog Grow in Eleven Days?

Between August 29 and September 9, 2026, the catalog went from 37 to 73 published profiles and from 6 to 16 cities: it doubled in eleven days. From September 1 to 8, 40 sign-ups came in. And 70 of the 73 profiles were published in the last 30 days, so almost everything you see has been online for less than a month. That explains why there are no client reviews yet: there has been no time or paid events to generate them. What each profile does have is human review before publication, and we say it that way, "profiles reviewed by the team," instead of promising opinions that do not exist. On the hiring side, the process is just as simple: the piece on how to hire a mariachi in five minutes with serenattia details that full flow.

How Is the Catalog Being Built?

With no ads. Through September 9 we have cold-contacted 471 musicians on WhatsApp and 219 responded: a 46% response rate, with MX$0 invested in advertising. We tell it as an anecdote of how a marketplace is put together from scratch, not as a market study. The other channel is the free registration for musicians: the musician fills out their profile, sets their rate and someone on the team reviews it before publishing. That filter has a fixed rule: only musicians, no agencies that resell. If the profile does not belong to the person who plays, it does not get in.

The Uncomfortable Part: Zero Paid Bookings

The protected payment system is in operation: the client pays on the platform the musician's rate plus a 10% service fee with a minimum of MX$200, the money is held in escrow and released to the musician after the event, with payout the next day. The musician keeps 100% of their rate because the fee is paid by the client on top, and everything is shown itemized before confirming. What is missing is for that circuit to complete its first lap with a real event. As of today, it has not happened. We have a catalog, prices up front and a payment flow ready; what we do not yet have is proof that someone uses it from start to finish. That is the number we will report next month, whatever it turns out to be.

What Comes Next?

Three things, with no target figures that later have to be corrected: add video to the profiles that lack it, keep opening cities where there is a single musician today, and land the first paid booking. In parallel, the serenattia Price Index will remain the public price reference, built from verifiable external sources; the benchmark with the platform's own prices will be published only when there is real volume to audit. You can read who is behind the project at about us: it is one founder, Christian López, from Mérida, Yucatán.

If you are a musician and want to appear in the next report, publish your profile for free in the musician registration: you set your rate and collect it in full. If you are organizing an event, search for verified musicians and help us change that zero.

serenattia is the marketplace of verified live musicians in Mexico: profiles reviewed by the team and protected escrow payment, so the musician's money is released only when the event takes place. Before paying you clearly see the musician's rate plus a 10% service fee (minimum MX$200), with no hidden charges.
