You can send a mariachi serenade to Mexico from the United States by booking a musician published on Serenattia in your family's city. You pay by card online in Mexican pesos, and the money stays in escrow until the event.
Can you really send a mariachi serenade to Mexico from the US?
Yes. If your mother, grandparents or siblings live in Mexico and you live in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix or San Antonio, you do not need to be there for the music to play. You choose the musician online, you pay online, and the serenade is delivered at the address in Mexico.
It works because Serenattia is a marketplace for hiring live musicians in Mexico. Prices are visible, there is no exclusivity, and the Serenattia team confirms availability for every booking. You are not buying a gift card: you are booking a real musician in a real city.
Which cities in Mexico can I send it to?
Today there are musicians published in ten places. Pick the one where the person lives.

How does it work, step by step?
Everything happens online from the United States, while the serenade is delivered in Mexico by Serenattia musicians. Here are the steps:
- Go to the Serenattia musicians page and pick the city where the person receiving the serenade lives.
- Compare musician profiles. Prices are visible and there is no exclusivity, so you can review several options.
- Book and pay 100% online by card. The amount is charged in Mexican pesos.
- The Serenattia team confirms availability for your booking.
- Who scans the musician's QR code on the day of the event is coordinated with the Serenattia team when you book, since you will be on the other side of the border.
There is no need to open accounts in Mexico or to wire money to anyone outside the platform. Booking, payment and confirmation all go through Serenattia.
One thing that helps: have the recipient's full name, the address with landmarks and a phone contact in Mexico ready. With those details the team can check availability without back-and-forth questions. And if anything is unclear, ask before you pay: it is better to settle every doubt at the start than to discover a detail on the day of the serenade.
What happens to my money if I pay from abroad?
When you book, you pay 100% and the money is held in escrow. It is not handed to the musician at that moment. It is released on the day of the event, when the musician's QR code is scanned before they play. That is Serenattia's trust argument: if the musician does not show up, the payment is not released.
The musician receives 100% of their rate. You pay a separate service fee of 10%, with a minimum of $200 MXN. If you need an invoice, Serenattia can issue one, and VAT (16%) is added on top. You see all of this before you pay.
This is not an automatic refund promise or a punctuality guarantee. It is the payment mechanism: the money waits in escrow and is only released when the musician's QR code is scanned at the event. It is a concrete protection for someone who cannot be there.
Serenattia charges by card online, and the amount is charged in Mexican pesos. We do not quote a conversion or an exchange rate: your bank or card issuer converts the amount when it processes the charge. If you want to know whether your bank applies any fee for purchases in another currency, ask them before you pay.
A practical tip: check the total in pesos before you confirm the payment and keep your receipt. If your bank sends an alert for an international charge, you will probably want to approve it right away. We cannot tell you how much it will be in dollars because we do not use an exchange rate: that depends on the date and on your bank.
What makes a serenade a good gift from far away?
Distance usually takes away the moments that matter: the birthday song, the Sunday visit, the surprise at the door. A serenade brings one of those moments back. It is shared with whoever is home, it is easy to record on a phone so you can watch it later, and it says something a text message cannot.
It does not replace being there, and we do not pretend it does. But for many families it becomes the part of the celebration everybody remembers.
An honest note: Serenattia started in Mexico and its musicians are in Mexico. We only offer serenades in cities with published musicians: Mexico City (CDMX), Guadalajara, Puebla, Querétaro, Toluca, Monterrey, Cuernavaca, Mérida, Cancún and Playa del Carmen. If your family lives somewhere else, we cannot offer that serenade today, and we would rather say so up front.
If you are a musician in Mexico, you can publish your profile for free at /registro-musico.
