A serenata (serenade) with wine is a romantic, elegant gift: the music opens the moment and the glass stretches it out. On Serenattia you book the music part with a visible price; you buy the wine on your own and have it ready to toast when the last song ends. It works above all for couples and anniversaries.
There are gifts meant to last an instant and others meant to become a whole evening. The serenade with wine belongs to the second kind. The music sets the tone, the toast closes the scene, and what remains is an evening that both of you will remember. Here we explain how to put it together well.
When does a serenade with wine work best?
It is ideal for adult and couple occasions: anniversaries, Valentine's Day, a proposal, a reconciliation, a dinner at home or the celebration of an achievement. It also works for thanking a friend or a father who enjoys wine. When the occasion is a children's one or a family one with minors, it pays to swap the wine for a non-alcoholic drink or a cake.
Which musical group goes best with wine?
| Group | Atmosphere | Recommended for |
|---|---|---|
| Romantic trio | Intimate, of boleros | Dinner at home, anniversary, Valentine's Day |
| Violin | Elegant and emotional | Proposals, formal dinners |
| Saxophone | Sensual and modern | Young couples, terraces, rooftops |
| Mariachi | Festive and traditional | Toasts with family, big anniversaries |
For a wine atmosphere, the most common choice is a trio, violin or saxophone. Check what is available by city at /musicos, because not all types of group are published in all cities.
How do you coordinate the serenade and the wine?
Serenattia is a marketplace for hiring musicians, so the booking on the platform covers the music. The wine, the glasses and the accompaniments you get yourself. To make everything flow:
- Book the serenade first and wait for the team's confirmation.
- Choose the wine calmly. A soft red or a sparkling wine are usually a good choice for toasting; if you do not know, ask for advice at a wine shop.
- Chill or decant ahead of time, depending on the type.
- Leave the glasses ready on the table, along with something to nibble on.
- Coordinate a signal to serve when the last song ends.
If the wine is delivered to your home by a store, schedule its arrival before the time of the serenade so it does not cross paths with the group.
How much does the music part cost?
Each musician publishes their rate. As a reference, the lowest price published today (October 2026, before the service fee) is from MX$1,500 in CDMX, MX$1,300 in Puebla, MX$1,700 in Mérida, MX$1,800 in Cancún, MX$2,400 in Querétaro and MX$2,500 in Monterrey. The 10% service fee is added with a minimum of MX$200, and the musician receives 100% of their rate. The wine is separate. Check ranges in the index of music prices in Mexico.
How is my payment protected?
You pay 100% when booking and the money is held in escrow. It is released to the musician at the event, when you scan the musician's QR code before they play. If the group does not arrive, the payment is not released. If you need an invoice, one can be issued with the VAT (16%) separate.
Ideas to make the evening memorable
- Have the table set with candles before the serenade begins.
- Ask the musician for the first-date song to open.
- Write a short letter and read it while you pour the wine.
- If it is a surprise, ask a friend to help with the preparations.
- Take the photos without letting go of the glass: the memory is the toast, not the phone.

Things to consider with alcohol
If there will be drinks, think about who drives back and about the age of those taking part. A serenade is a moment to enjoy, not to overindulge. Also offer water or a non-alcoholic drink, and avoid serving alcohol to minors. If the serenade is in a public space or in a building with rules, check beforehand whether drinking alcoholic beverages on the premises is allowed.
And a practical detail: wine is better opened right before the toast. Bring a corkscrew to the table and do not go looking for it when the music has already ended.
A simple script for the evening
If you want everything to flow, think of the evening as a small play in four acts. First, the preparation: table set, candles, clean glasses and the wine at the right temperature. Second, the arrival of the group: the person hears the first song, steps out or peeks out and realizes what is happening. Third, the central moment: the dedicated song, with that silence that falls when someone is moved. Fourth, the toast: when the music ends, you pour the wine, thank the group and share a few words.
If you prefer something more spontaneous, you can leave the wine for after a dinner. What we do not recommend is improvising the time: the serenade sets the clock, and everything else fits around it. Tell the musician what time they should arrive and whether you want them to wait a few minutes before starting while you confirm that everything is ready.
And if the wine is the star of the gift, for example a special bottle from a trip or from an important year, tell the musician the story. Sometimes a song can be dedicated to that memory and the toast takes on even more meaning.
