A serenade package (paquete de serenata) is the way to handle everything you need in a single booking: choosing the genre and the musician, setting the date and place, and paying with the money held in escrow. On Serenattia you put it together yourself with visible pricing, from MX$1,500 in Mexico City, with no surprises and no exclusivity.

What does a serenade package include?

Think of a package as a gift box: what matters is that whoever receives it only has to enjoy it and whoever gives it only has to make decisions once. A complete serenade package is made up of four pieces.

  • The musicians: the group or soloist you chose (mariachi, trio, norteño, banda, rondalla, saxophone, violin, marimba, among other published options).
  • The date and time: the exact moment you want the serenade to begin.
  • The place: the address where it will be performed, whether a home, a garden, a terrace or a hall.
  • The songs or the dedication: what you want to play and who it is meant for.

Each musician publishes their rate on their profile, so the package isn't a closed menu that someone else decided for you. You choose, compare and book. That's exactly the point: sending a serenade should be as easy as sending flowers or a cake, but with something that is heard and remembered.

How do I put together my package step by step?

1. Decide on the mood

Before looking at prices, think about what the person is like. If they like the traditional and festive, mariachi is the classic. If you prefer something more intimate, a romantic trio or a solo guitarist works better. For those from the north of the country, norteño sounds like home. And if you're looking for something different, a saxophone or a violin completely changes the tone of the night.

2. Choose your musician

In the musicians section you can see profiles, genres and published rates. Since the price is visible, you know what it costs before writing to anyone.

3. Set the date, time and place

Have the full address on hand and a time that doesn't clash with the person's other plans. If it's a surprise, think about who can help make sure they're home.

4. Book and pay

You pay 100% when you book. The money is held in escrow and is not handed to the musician at that time. The Serenattia team confirms the availability of each booking, so you know whether your date is set.

How much does a serenade package cost?

The cost depends on the musician, the genre, the size of the group and the market. To give you a real reference, these are the lowest prices published today by musicians on Serenattia (October 2026), before the service fee:

MarketFrom (MXN)
PueblaMX$1,300
Mexico CityMX$1,500
MéridaMX$1,700
CancúnMX$1,800
Playa del CarmenMX$2,000
TolucaMX$2,200
QuerétaroMX$2,400
MonterreyMX$2,500
CuernavacaMX$3,600
GuadalajaraMX$4,000

These are entry prices: larger or more experienced groups charge more. To see ranges by city and genre, check the music price index for Mexico.

The service fee

The musician receives 100% of their rate. Separately, the client pays a service fee of 10%, with a minimum of MX$200. An example: if you book a MX$1,500 serenade, 10% would be MX$150, but the minimum applies, so the fee is MX$200 and you pay MX$1,700 in total. If the rate is MX$4,000, the fee is MX$400 and the total is MX$4,400. If you need an invoice, VAT (16%) is added on top.

How do I know my money is safe?

This is the question that holds back the most people who have never hired musicians online. The scheme works like this: you pay 100% when you book and the money is held in escrow. It is released to the musician at the event, when you scan the musician's QR code before they play. If the musician doesn't show up, you don't scan the code and the payment isn't released. There's no loose deposit and no money that leaves ahead of time.

Also, there is no exclusivity: you can compare and hire whoever you want, and musicians aren't tied to a single platform.

Ideas to personalize your package

  • Choose a song with a story: the one that played on their first date, the one their grandfather used to sing or the one that reminds them of a trip.
  • Combine genres with other details: some flowers or a cake waiting after the last song make the moment feel complete.
  • Mind the time: a serenade at sunset or at night usually feels more special, but respect your neighborhood's customs.
  • Notify the neighbors or the building manager: if it's a building or a gated community, it avoids awkward moments.
  • Decide who films: ask a friend to record a video, because the reaction is what's treasured most.

For which occasions does a serenade package work?

Practically any: birthdays, anniversaries, asking for forgiveness, asking someone to be your partner, Mother's Day, graduations, farewells, weddings and even a simple show of affection on any random Tuesday. The valuable thing is that you don't have to wait for a big date to give one. When the rate is visible, it's easy to decide whether the budget is enough and what size of group makes sense.

If you still don't know which genre to choose, start from the person's profile and not from your own tastes. It's their serenade: whatever makes them smile is the right choice.
