A serenade (serenata) for a man works very well when you choose songs he enjoys, a format that fits his personality and an intimate moment or one with close people. It's not only for women: birthdays, anniversaries, Father's Day and achievements are good occasions. Book with a visible price and escrow payment on Serenattia.

Why is a serenade for a man a different kind of gift?

Many men receive practical gifts but few expressive shows of affection. A serenade opens an emotional space without needing to say much: the music says what is sometimes hard to say. It also breaks with the routine of gifts and leaves a memory that gets retold.

It works for partners, children, brothers, friends or coworkers. In each case, the tone changes: romantic for a partner, grateful for Dad, festive for a friend, respectful for the boss. Think about what message you want to convey and how he will receive it.

Which genres and formats should you choose depending on his personality?

ProfileFormat and repertoire
TraditionalMariachi with rancheras and boleros
Party-lovingNorteño, banda or marimba with songs to sing along to
ReservedViolin or saxophone with instrumental pieces
RomanticTrio with boleros and ballads
NostalgicTrio or rondalla with songs from his youth

If you're not sure, ask his family or friends what music he listens to. A song he feels is his own is better than a "romantic" song that doesn't represent him. Ask the musician to mention his name and a phrase from you.

How do you organize it so he enjoys it?

  1. Choose an occasion: birthday, anniversary, Father's Day or an achievement.
  2. Confirm he'll be at the location and count on an accomplice.
  3. Book the format on Serenattia.
  4. Limit the number of guests if he's shy.
  5. Prepare a small touch: cake, food or a small gift.
  6. Scan the musician's QR code before they play.

If he's very discreet, give him some preparation: tell him a few hours ahead or do it in a private setting. Making him feel comfortable comes first.

Don't underestimate the power of a simple gesture. A guitar and three well-chosen songs can move someone more than a big show with no soul. When the music ends, stay a moment with him: a hug, a sincere word or a toast can seal the memory. And if the serenade is from several people, have each one say a brief phrase. Those messages stay recorded in memory much more than any material object.

And if you're torn between several songs, choose the one he'd sing in the car at full volume: that's usually the one that represents him best and feels best at a serenade.

How much does it cost and what is paid separately?

Each musician posts their price, so there's no need to ask for quotes blindly. These are the lowest prices posted today on Serenattia (October 2026), by city: CDMX from MX$1,500; Puebla from MX$1,300; Guadalajara from MX$4,000; Querétaro from MX$2,400; Monterrey from MX$2,500; Toluca from MX$2,200; Cuernavaca from MX$3,600; Mérida from MX$1,700; Cancún from MX$1,800; Playa del Carmen from MX$2,000, all in MXN and before the service fee. The final price depends on the format, the date and the time.

A 10% service fee (minimum MX$200) is added to the rate. It is separate: the musician receives 100% of theirs. An invoice is available, with VAT (16%) on top. More context in the index of music prices in Mexico.

How do you book and how is your payment protected?

Booking here is different from sending a deposit by message. You pay 100% when you book and that money is held in escrow; it is released to the musician at the event, when you scan their QR code before they play. If they don't show up, it isn't released. And the Serenattia team checks the availability of each booking before confirming it to you.

The full process, summarized:

  • Before: review profiles, choose a format and book early. You pay everything at the start.
  • While you wait: the team confirms availability and you coordinate the address and contact.
  • On the day: greet the musician, scan their QR code and enjoy. That scan is what releases the payment.

If something changes in your schedule, let us know as soon as possible to look at options with the team.

Two details that help a lot: leave a contact phone at the event location and tell whoever receives the musician their name and what time they are expected. If there is a gate, guard booth or administration, give notice in time. Good events feel easy because someone took care of those small steps. And if the person receiving the serenade lives in another city, ask a relative or friend to act as the liaison with the musician on the day of the event.
