Serenade-at-Home Packages: How to Compare and What Each One Includes

What to look for when comparing serenade-at-home packages: songs, length, type of group, visible price and how your payment is protected.

When comparing serenade-at-home packages, look at four things: type of group, number of songs or length, visible final price and how your payment is protected. On Serenattia each musician publishes their rate; you compare and book online, with payment held in escrow until you scan the QR at the event.

When you order flowers for delivery, you normally choose between bouquets of 12, 24 or 50 roses and the price goes up with size. With a serenata (serenade) the logic is similar: what changes is the size of the group, the time and the repertoire. Here we explain how to read each package and how to build yours without surprises.

What does a serenade package normally include?

Each musician defines what they publish, so the right approach is to check the profile. The elements that usually vary are:

  • Type of group: mariachi, trio, norteño, banda, rondalla, saxophone or violin.
  • Number of members: the bigger the size, the greater the sound presence and, in general, the higher the rate.
  • Songs or length: some publish by number of songs, others by time.
  • Repertoire: whether you can choose songs or there is a base list.
  • Schedule and area: some musicians publish by city and by time slot.

If something does not appear on the profile, ask before paying. What is not published is not assumed to be included.

How to build your ideal "package"?

Think of three sizes, as if they were bouquets:

SizeWhat it can beWhat it is for
SmallTrio or violin, few songsAsking forgiveness, an intimate gesture, an apartment
MediumSmall mariachi or norteño, several songsBirthday, anniversary, May 10
LargeFull mariachi or banda, extended repertoireParties, surprises with lots of people

It is a way of thinking, not a Serenattia catalog: each rate depends on the musician you choose.

How much do they cost?

The lowest price published today by musicians on Serenattia (October 2026, before the service fee) is from MX$1,300 in Puebla, MX$1,500 in CDMX, MX$1,700 in Mérida, MX$1,800 in Cancún, MX$2,000 in Playa del Carmen, MX$2,200 in Toluca, MX$2,400 in Querétaro, MX$2,500 in Monterrey, MX$3,600 in Cuernavaca and MX$4,000 in Guadalajara. They are floors per city and each musician sets their rate. A 10% service fee with a minimum of MX$200 is added, and the musician receives 100% of their rate. To better understand the ranges, see the music price index for Mexico.

What does "at home" mean for a serenade?

That the group arrives at the place you indicate: the house, the patio, the door of the building, the restaurant or the office. Indicate the full address with landmarks and a contact phone number. The Serenattia team confirms the availability of each booking, including the area. If your city does not appear among those with a published price, send your request anyway and they will tell you what is possible.

How to compare without getting lost?

  1. Define the occasion and the city first.
  2. Filter by type of group at /musicos.
  3. Compare price, number of songs and reviews or profile information when they exist.
  4. Choose the one that fits the venue and the atmosphere.
  5. Book and wait for confirmation.

How is my payment protected?

You pay 100% when booking. The money is held in escrow and released to the musician at the event, when you scan the musician's QR code before they play. If the group does not show up, the payment is not released. There is no exclusivity and no loose deposits. If you need an invoice, it can be issued, with the 16% VAT separate.

Mistakes when comparing packages

  • Looking only at the price and forgetting how many songs it includes.
  • Not considering the service fee when calculating the total.
  • Choosing a very large group for a small space.
  • Not telling the musician the repertoire you want.

An example of comparison step by step

Suppose you want a birthday serenade in your city and you are interested in two musicians. The first publishes a lower rate with a trio and a reduced number of songs. The second publishes a higher rate with a mariachi and a longer repertoire. Which one makes sense? It depends on the place and the person. If it is an apartment and you want an intimate moment, the trio can be perfect and more economical. If it is a house with a patio and the family will come, the mariachi brings more presence.

To decide, do the full math: the musician's rate plus the service fee (10%, with a minimum of MX$200). For example, if a rate is MX$2,000, the fee is MX$200; if it were MX$3,000, it would be MX$300. With that total clear, compare how much you are paying per song and for the atmosphere you get. The cheapest is not always the best, nor the most expensive the ideal.

One last useful filter is availability: the Serenattia team confirms each booking, so you can send requests for the same date with the intention of keeping the option that fits best. What matters is to give notice clearly and respond to the confirmation on time.
