Premium Serenade: How to Build One With Many Musicians

A premium serenade combines a large group or several genres for a movie-worthy moment. We explain how to build it, what it costs, and how to book with payment held in escrow.

A premium serenata (serenade) is one where more musicians, more genres, or a more carefully curated repertoire are added compared with a simple serenade. On Serenattia it is built by choosing one or several profiles with a visible rate, and you pay 100% at booking with the money held in escrow until the musicians are with you.

What Makes a Serenade "Premium"?

There is no official definition, and that is good: you decide what premium means for the person who will receive it. In practice, a premium serenade usually has one or several of these characteristics.

  • More musicians: a full mariachi, a large banda, or a group with more instruments.
  • More variety: for example, a mariachi that opens and a violin or saxophone that closes with an intimate piece.
  • A thoughtful repertoire: songs chosen one by one, with dedications and in an order with intention.
  • A special place: a hacienda, a decorated garden, a terrace, or a hall.
  • A well-built moment: flowers, lights, a toast, and someone recording from the best angle.

Expensive is not a synonym for memorable. A well-thought-out premium serenade can cost less than another poorly organized one, because what gives it value is care for the details.

How Do I Combine Genres for a Big-Event Effect?

If you want something out of the ordinary, think of the serenade as a small concert with a beginning, a middle, and an end. Some combinations you can build with different musicians:

Mariachi and Violin

The mariachi opens strong and the violin closes with a soft piece. A contrast of energy.

Trio and Saxophone

Boleros with guitars to begin, and a saxophone for the most romantic moment of the night.

Banda and Norteño

For a big party with people who like to dance, the combination of two genres keeps the atmosphere up.

Marimba and Rondalla

For celebrations with a regional character or an air of classic tradition.

Each musician is booked separately, and there is no exclusivity, so you can combine different profiles for the same date. That said, each booking is confirmed separately: the Serenattia team confirms the availability of each one, so it is best to book in good time and coordinate the schedules so they do not overlap.

How Much Does a Premium Serenade Cost?

The price depends on how many musicians and which group you choose. As a reference, the lowest price published today by musicians on Serenattia (October 2026), before the service fee, is MX$1,300 in Puebla, MX$1,500 in CDMX, MX$1,700 in Mérida, MX$1,800 in Cancún, MX$2,000 in Playa del Carmen, MX$2,200 in Toluca, MX$2,400 in Querétaro, MX$2,500 in Monterrey, MX$3,600 in Cuernavaca, and MX$4,000 in Guadalajara. Those are starting points, and a large or more experienced group charges more. To see ranges and compare, check the price index.

When you add more than one musician, the rates add up, and each booking has its own service fee. It is 10% of the rate, with a minimum of MX$200, and is paid separately; the musician receives 100% of their rate. Example with two bookings: a mariachi at MX$4,000 generates a fee of MX$400, and a violinist at MX$1,500 generates the minimum fee of MX$200. The total would be MX$4,400 + MX$1,700 = MX$6,100. If you need an invoice, the VAT (16%) goes on top.

How Do I Protect a Bigger Investment?

The more you invest, the more trust matters. Each booking is paid 100% at the time of booking, and the money is held in escrow. It is released to the musician at the event, when you scan their QR code before they play. If one of the musicians does not arrive, you do not scan their code and their payment is not released. That protects each part of the package separately.

In addition, there is no exclusivity: you can have a backup plan and compare profiles before committing.

Checklist for a High-End Serenade

  • Confirm with each musician the songs and the order of the numbers.
  • Designate someone on site to receive the musicians and guide them.
  • Make sure there is enough space: a large group needs room to set up.
  • Check the acoustics and the proximity of neighbors, and let them know ahead of time.
  • Prepare simple lighting and decoration to go with it: candles, warm lights, flowers.
  • Ask someone to record video and take photos without getting in the way.
  • Leave a margin between times if you are combining two or more groups.

When Do You Not Need a Premium Serenade?

Many times a single trio or a well-chosen soloist is more moving than a huge group. If the space is small, if the person is reserved, or if the budget is limited, a simple serenade with a very meaningful song may be better. The key is that the gift makes sense for the one receiving it. Review all the options under musicians and choose calmly.
