Mérida now has 33 of the 73 musician profiles published on Serenattia, almost half of the national catalog. It is the platform's home market (Christian López, its founder, is from Mérida) and the only city in the southeast with a documented local price in the Serenattia live music price index: a mariachi charges MX$1,500 to MX$3,000 per hour and a Yucatecan trova serenade by a trio runs MX$500 to MX$1,500. For the rest of the formats the reference is the national range from the same index, and here we tell you which is which.

How many musicians are there in Mérida on Serenattia?

As of September 9, 2026, Serenattia has 73 published profiles in 16 cities in Mexico, and 33 of them are in Mérida. Adding Valladolid (2) and Progreso (1), Yucatán has 36 profiles, practically half of the catalog. This is how the rest of the country breaks down:

The catalog is young: 70 of the 73 profiles were published in the last 30 days, and from September 1 to 8 alone, 40 new sign-ups came in. Between August 29 and September 9 the platform went from 37 to 73 profiles and from 6 to 16 cities, that is, it doubled in 11 days. Each profile goes through a human review before it is published, and sign-up for musicians is free at /registro-musico.

What genres and formats can you find in Mérida?

Across the whole catalog there are 28 different genres and 194 active packages with a published price and length. In Mérida, browsing the profiles on the city page, you find these formats:

  • Mariachi, for serenades, birthdays, wedding entrances and tornabodas (post-wedding parties).
  • Romantic trio (trío romántico), the natural format for Yucatecan trova and bolero.
  • String quartet and violinist, for religious and civil ceremonies and the quinceañera waltz.
  • Saxophonist and acoustic ensembles, for cocktail hours and dinners at haciendas.
  • DJ and lighting and sound, the party block.
  • Banda, norteño group, versatile band and tropical group, for the long dance.
  • Batucada, choir and solo guitarist, niche formats that already have a published profile.

We do not yet publish a count by genre for each city, so we are not going to tell you "there are this many mariachis in Mérida": that figure will come out when the catalog has enough volume for the number to mean something. What you can do today is filter by type of musician in the city and see each rate before writing to anyone. Of the 73 national profiles, 17 already have video; we are asking the rest to upload it, because it is the first thing whoever is hiring checks.

How much does a musician charge in Mérida in 2026?

The Serenattia index has a local price for Mérida only for mariachi and trova. For the other formats we use the national range and mark it in the table so you do not confuse it with a Mérida figure.

Mariachi, 5 songs / 10 songsaround MX$2,500 / MX$3,600Local, Mérida

As a reference for what musicians publish on the platform (not for what has been charged), the median list price of the 194 packages is MX$4,300 and the average is MX$8,150. The difference between the two is explained by large formats, such as versatile bands and DJs with production, which pull the average upward. If you want to go deeper into the comparison between mariachi and trova in the city, see mariachi or trova in Mérida: 2026 prices.

Where do these prices come from?

It is worth saying clearly. The Serenattia index is not built from platform bookings: it compiles and cross-checks published, verifiable price ranges between 2024 and 2026, taken from national and local press (for Yucatán, Diario de Yucatán and POSTA Yucatán), from provider directories, and from provider sites with a public rate. The benchmark with real quotes inside Serenattia is not yet published: protected payment already operates, but the first payment has not yet arrived, and we are not going to mix a public estimate with our own data without volume. The profile counts, on the other hand, do come from the platform's database as of September 9, 2026.

Why is Mérida the home market?

Because Serenattia was born here. Christian López, the founder, is from Mérida, and the catalog began to be built musician by musician in the city: 471 musicians contacted cold on WhatsApp, of whom 219 responded, a 46% response rate without a peso of ad spend. That direct conversation explains why the market now has more profiles than Mexico City and Cancún combined. It also explains the bias: if you search in Mérida you will find more options and more variety than in any other city on the platform, for now. To avoid overpaying in the city, this guide to quoting music in Mérida helps.

When does the price of music go up in Mérida?

The index documents the calendar of peaks at a national level, not one specific to Mérida, so take it as a pattern and not as a local figure. On the night of September 15 and 16 the mariachi goes up between 30% and 100% across the country. May 10 (Mother's Day) is the number one peak for serenades, with rates of up to three times the base. December 12 concentrates Las Mañanitas for the Virgin, and from October to December company posadas exhaust the calendar for norteño, DJ and versatile bands. The only variable you control is when you book: a wedding is closed 3 to 6 months ahead and a patriotic-holiday date in July or August.

How do you hire a musician in Mérida with the price in plain view?

Go to the Mérida page or to the search page, filter by type of musician and compare published rates, not blind quotes. When booking you pay on the platform the musician's rate plus a 10% service fee (minimum MX$200), visible before confirming. The money is held in escrow and released to the musician the day after the event; the musician collects their full rate, with no exclusivity and no agencies in between. If you are a musician in Mérida or anywhere in Yucatán, publish your profile for free and put your rate in plain view.

If you already have a date and budget, compare verified musicians in Mérida on Serenattia and book with a clear price from the first click.

Serenattia is the marketplace of verified live musicians in Mexico: profiles reviewed by the team and protected payment with escrow, so the musician's money is released only when the event takes place.
