A monthly serenade subscription is the idea of giving live music regularly, one date a month. Today each serenade (serenata) is booked separately: you choose date, musician, and payment for each one. That way you can build your own calendar, at your own pace and with visible pricing.
Flower subscriptions arrived because people want constant gifts, not only on big dates. The same goes for music: one serenade a year is moving, but a meaningful serenade every so often becomes a tradition. In this guide we show you how to build a monthly plan, which dates to take advantage of, and how to keep it up without overspending.
Is there a monthly serenade subscription?
What does exist is the possibility of booking several dates ahead of time throughout the year. Each booking is independent, with its own musician, its own published price, and its own escrow payment. That gives you freedom: you can change genre, city, or format each time, without committing to a contract.
The advantage of planning a calendar is that you choose calmly and avoid hiring in a rush on the fullest dates. The Serenattia team confirms the availability of each booking, so it pays to make them ahead of time.
Which dates are worth including in a serenade calendar?
You don't need a serenade every exact 30 days. Think of moments that already exist and spread the music out:
| Month | Possible occasion | Suggested format |
|---|---|---|
| January | Birthday or Día de Reyes (Three Kings Day) | Trio or guitar |
| February | Valentine's Day or Amor y Amistad | Romantic trio |
| March and April | Anniversary or graduation | Small mariachi |
| May | Mother's Day | Mariachi or trio |
| June | Father's Day or birthday | Norteño or mariachi |
| September | Fiestas Patrias (Independence celebrations) | Mariachi, banda |
| November | Día de Muertos (tribute) | Trio or violin |
| December | Posadas and Christmas | Christmas mariachi |
That is an example, not a rule. You can swap any month for a birthday, a couple's anniversary, or a date only the two of you understand.
How do you build a monthly plan without overspending?
1. Set an annual budget
Add up how much you want to put toward music during the year. Then divide it among the dates that matter to you. Not all of them need a full mariachi: some can be a soloist or a trio.
2. Mix formats
Alternate between a big serenade and a small one. That way the gift always feels different and the spending is spread out. Here are the options: one month the big bouquet, another month a single well-chosen flower.
3. Book ahead
The most sought-after dates fill up. If you already know which day you want, book weeks ahead.
4. Check published prices
Each musician publishes their rate, and you can compare it before paying. Check the index of music prices in Mexico for context.
How much does each serenade cost?
These are the lowest prices published today by musicians on Serenattia (October 2026), before the service fee:
- Puebla from MX$1,300
- Mexico City from MX$1,500
- Mérida from MX$1,700
- Cancún from MX$1,800
- Playa del Carmen from MX$2,000
- Toluca from MX$2,200
- Querétaro from MX$2,400
- Monterrey from MX$2,500
- Cuernavaca from MX$3,600
- Guadalajara from MX$4,000
These are minimum rates published today, and they may go up depending on group and time. For each booking a 10% service fee (minimum MX$200) is added, which you pay separately; the musician receives 100% of their rate. If you need an invoice, the VAT (IVA, 16%) goes on top.
How is each payment protected?
Each serenade is paid 100% when booking, and the money stays in escrow. It is released to the musician at the event, when you scan their QR code before they play. That is, even if you schedule several dates, each one has its own protection. If on one of them the musician doesn't arrive, the payment is not released.
Ideas to make each month feel different
- Choose a new song each time, one that tells a moment of the year in your relationship.
- Change the place: the house, the terrace, a park, a restaurant.
- Invite someone different each time: the kids, the parents, friends.
- Save a short video of each serenade and put together an album at the end of the year.
- Alternate surprises with agreed serenades: one prepared together and another that arrives unannounced.
Who does a recurring gift make the most sense for?
It works very well for couples who want to keep the habit of the thoughtful gesture alive, for children who live far from their parents and want to be present on key dates, and for those who celebrate an older relative with a song at each visit. It also works for family businesses or teams that want to recognize achievements consistently. In every case, the important thing is that the calendar be realistic: better four or six well-chosen serenades a year than twelve rushed ones. If one month it can't happen, the date is moved and booked again, with no penalties for a fixed plan, because each booking is handled separately.
