To send a serenade (serenata) in Monterrey, you go to Serenattia, pick the type of music (mariachi, trio, norteño or other), book with a date, time and address, and pay 100% when you book. The lowest price posted today in Monterrey is from MX$2,500, before the service fee.
Why can sending a serenade be as easy as sending flowers?
When you want to give someone a gift in Monterrey, the usual thought is a bouquet, a cake or a box of chocolates. All of that is ordered online, chosen from a photo and paid in minutes. With a serenade almost nobody does it that way, because people assume you have to get a mariachi's phone number, negotiate by message and hope everything goes well. On Serenattia the process is more like ordering a gift: you see the musicians, you see the posted price, you choose and book. There is no exclusivity, so you can compare calmly before deciding.
The difference is that what you deliver doesn't wilt or end up in a drawer: it's a moment. The person opens the door or looks out the window and finds live music made for them, with the song you chose. That's why a serenade works for birthdays, anniversaries, apologizing, saying thank you, celebrating an achievement or simply surprising someone for no reason.
What type of music should you choose?
Each one says something different. These are the most common options for a serenade:
- Mariachi: the classic option, with trumpets and violins. It's the one most associated with a romantic serenade and with Las Mañanitas.
- Trio: guitars and soft voices, ideal for boleros and intimate songs in a small space.
- Norteño: accordion and bajo sexto, much loved in the north of the country and a natural choice for anyone who grew up listening to it.
- Banda: more power and more volume, designed for celebrations with lots of people.
- Saxophone, violin or rondalla: for a more elegant or different atmosphere.
If you're unsure, ask yourself what music the person listens to when they're happy. That's the right answer, not the one that seems most spectacular. And check in the listing which genres are available for your date, because not all of them are in every market or on every day.
How much does it cost to send a serenade in Monterrey?
The lowest price posted today by musicians on Serenattia for Monterrey is from MX$2,500 (October 2026, before the service fee). It's a starting point, not a fixed price: each musician posts their own rate, and it changes with the genre, the number of members, the length and the area. The good thing about seeing the price from the start is that you can adjust to your budget without asking for quotes one by one.
On top of the musician's rate a 10% service fee is added, with a minimum of MX$200. The musician receives 100% of their rate and you pay the fee separately. An example: if you choose a rate of MX$2,500, the fee is MX$250 and the total is MX$2,750. If you need an invoice, one can be issued and the 16% VAT goes on top. How do I book, step by step?
- Step 1: go to the list of musicians and filter by Monterrey.
- Step 2: choose the genre and review the profile, the posted price and the videos.
- Step 3: enter the date, time, full address and the name of the person receiving the serenade.
- Step 4: pay 100% when you book. The money is held in escrow.
- Step 5: the Serenattia team confirms the availability of your booking.
We recommend booking early. The more margin you have, the easier it is for the genre you want to be free. Avoid promising the person an exact arrival time: coordinate the details and make the address clear, with landmarks for the entrance, the house number or the floor.
What if the musician doesn't show up?
It's the most reasonable doubt when you pay in advance, and that's why the payment is held in escrow. It is released to the musician at the event, when you scan the musician's QR code before they play. If the musician doesn't show up, that scan doesn't happen and the payment isn't released. It's how trust doesn't depend on a promise made by message. If something gets complicated, write to the team so they can review your case.
Tips to make the surprise go well
- Choose the songs thinking about the person and not about what looks best on video. A song with meaning is worth more than ten well-known ones.
- If it's a surprise, tell a relative or a neighbor so they're on the lookout and open up in time.
- Decide who greets the musicians and who films, so you can enjoy the moment.
- Keep the musician's QR code handy: you scan it before they start playing.
- If the serenade is at an apartment or a gated community, notify the guard booth or the administrator to avoid delays at the entrance.
A well-thought-out serenade is remembered for years. If you already know who it's for, start by seeing the musicians available in Monterrey and choose the one that sounds best with the story you want to tell.
