To hire a mariachi with home delivery service, choose a group with a visible rate, enter the address, date and time, and pay the full booking. On Serenattia the money is held in escrow and is only released when the musician arrives and you scan their QR code before they start playing.

What Does "Mariachi at Your Door" Really Mean?

It means the group goes to the place you indicate: a house, a garden, a hall, the door of an apartment or the patio of a restaurant. You do not have to move the guests or the guest of honor. You provide the address and the musicians arrive with instruments and repertoire.

What matters is that the service is clear from the start: how many musicians come, how long they play, how many songs are included and whether there are distance charges. A good home service leaves no point open before you pay. That is why on Serenattia each musician publishes their rate and you can compare with no commitment: there is no exclusivity.

What Should You Decide Before Booking?

Before choosing a group, be clear on five things. With them the booking process takes just a few minutes:

  • Date and time: the most requested ones (weekends, holiday dates) fill up first.
  • Exact address: with landmarks, the name of the residential development or tower and a contact phone number.
  • Type of event: birthday, anniversary, surprise serenade, wedding, baptism or family gathering.
  • Format: mariachi, trio, norteño, banda, saxophone or violin. It does not all have to be a full mariachi.
  • Songs: a short list with the favorites of whoever is receiving the music.

If it is a surprise, also decide how the group will enter and who will let the others know. Often the best entrance is with the first song already started, from the back of the garden or from the street.

How Much Does a Mariachi at Home Cost?

It depends on the format, the duration and the city. As a reference, these are the lowest prices published by musicians on Serenattia in October 2026 (in pesos, before the service fee):

CityFrom
PueblaMX$1,300
Mexico CityMX$1,500
MéridaMX$1,700
CancúnMX$1,800
Playa del CarmenMX$2,000
TolucaMX$2,200
QuerétaroMX$2,400
MonterreyMX$2,500
CuernavacaMX$3,600
GuadalajaraMX$4,000

These are minimum prices, not the average or a promise of what each service costs. A large mariachi, more time or a distant area cost more. To compare in more detail, check the index of music prices in Mexico.

How Is the Total Calculated and How Is It Paid?

A 10% service fee with a minimum of MX$200 is added to the musician's price. The musician receives 100% of their rate. Two examples to make it clear: if the rate is MX$1,500, 10% would be MX$150, which falls below the minimum, so the fee is MX$200 and the total is MX$1,700. If the rate is MX$4,000, the fee is MX$400 and the total is MX$4,400. If you need an invoice, the 16% VAT (IVA) goes on top.

Payment is 100% when booking and is held in escrow. That way, even if you hire a group you have never seen, your money does not go to the musician until the service is fulfilled: it is released at the event, when you scan the musician's QR before they play. In addition, the Serenattia team confirms the availability of each booking.

Step by Step to Order It Today

  1. Go to the list of musicians and filter by your city and the genre you want.
  2. Compare rates, repertoire and the description of each group.
  3. Choose a date and time, and type in the full address.
  4. Add notes: the name of whoever receives them, songs and entrance details.
  5. Pay 100% and wait for the team's confirmation.
  6. On the day of the event, ask the group for their QR code and scan it before they start playing.

If something changes (time, address, number of guests), let us know as soon as possible through the channel indicated in the booking so the team and the musician can adjust.

Tips to Make Everything Go Well

Leave someone at the door to receive the group, let the neighbors know if it is a nighttime serenade and make sure there is room for the musicians. If the event is indoors, confirm that they will fit; if it is outdoors, think about the weather. And remember that the most valuable thing about a mariachi at home is not the volume, but the moment: one song chosen with intention weighs more than ten at random.

Common Mistakes When Hiring for Home Delivery

The first is leaving the booking for the last minute. Groups with good rates get taken first, and the closer the date, the fewer options you will have. The second is giving an incomplete address: without landmarks, the group loses time and the surprise is ruined. The third is not defining how many songs you want, so the expectation does not match what was hired.

Another frequent mistake is choosing only by the lowest price. Also look at the genre, the description, the repertoire and whether the format fits your space. A well-chosen trio in a small apartment usually works better than a full mariachi that has nowhere to set up. Finally, do not confirm payments on your own outside the platform: paying within Serenattia is what keeps your money in escrow until the event.

And If the Event Is in Another City?

Many people hire for someone who lives far away: their mom, their partner, a friend. In that case choose the city where the person receiving the music will be, not yours. Ask for the address details ahead of time and, if it is a surprise, coordinate with someone you trust who will be at the place to open the door or receive the group. That way you send music to someone's door as easily as you would send a gift of any other kind.
